Mural: Day 7 (FINISHED)
I'm done! It has been an interesting process over the last couple of months. It seems like I've been working on it forever, but I guess when you add up the days...I really only worked on it 7 times. I could have finished it in one week straight. I'm glad I documented it along the way so I could see how long it really took me. With painting, driving time, sketching and purchasing paint, I think it took me just about 40 hours to complete it. Here's the finished product. I wish I had better quality pics....mine always turn out grainy and a little blurry.

Mural: Day 6
I'm almost done! Tuesday I worked on the Darth Vador and got him finished up. I was going to put detail on his clothing, like buttons and things, but I'm just thought that it would look good without it since some of his cape and other parts of him kind of dissapear into the black abiss. Tomorrow I'm going back to finish up. I'll work on the light sabers and then maybe add some stars to the wall....but we'll see how much time I have.

Mural: Day 4
I logged in a couple more hours today on the mural. I wish Tommy lived a little closer so I could get to his house quicker and be there more often....but oh well. It's getting done, slowly but surely. I finished Yoda's claws today and he is all done now (minus his light saber) and I started on Darth Vadar. I got most of his head done....and surprisingly it was easier than I thought. Yoda was much more time consuming and tricky to figure out. I thought D.V. would be more of a challange since I'm basically working with shades from grey to black. Only having to mix black and white ended up being super easy to work with and didn't get muddied as it would've if I had used more colors. The rest of his body should come together pretty quickly (although it is a pretty large area to paint). I didn't want to work on the light sabers today......I'll probably do those last.

Mural: Day 3
I'm back on the mural again. I worked for a few hours this morning and got Yoda almost finished. Here's a few pics:I haven't seen the mural for about a month since we've been so busy....and when I saw it today I was surprised that the permanent marker had bled through the paint. What a bummer! It shouldn't be too hard to fix...hopefully.

Mural: Day 2 1/2
Well today I made a lot more progress than on Wed. I got a good portion of Yoda finished. After mixing Yoda's face color and getting it up there I noticed it was too brown/green and blended with his clothes. So, I mixed the "light saber" green in with the mix and I was happy with the perfect Yoda color. His face will be toned down a lot after I get all of the shading done. It was really fun today....and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed painting. It didn't feel like a chore at all.
Star Wars Mural.....(in progress)
I started painting my first mural a couple weeks ago for Tommy (Jeremy's good friend from Sunshine). He wanted a Star Wars theme with the Millenium Falcon and some characters. I haven't gotten very far yet with the painting (I've only been able to make it over there 2 days so far with how busy summer has been) but I thought that I would post a few pics of my progress. Here's a close-up of Yoda & Darth Vador holding Light Sabers:I started filling in Yoda today and it was fun to see it come to life. I was a little hesitant about putting up pics of unfinished work (it always looks sloppy until it's finished), but I thought it would be fun to document the process. I think it will help me too to be able to look back and see how it went and what worked/didn't work: Here's a pic to show the size of the image in comparison with the room:I'm going back this Friday, so hopefully I'll get a lot more done. I had a little bit of a paint problem today and wasted a few hours with it.......so frustrating!
